Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen (born 6 May 1964) is a Danish actor. He has appeared as Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock) as well as the Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011. At the age of 27 He enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated from the institution in 1995. Alongside his appearance in the drama series aired internationally as The Killing, the actor was also featured in two other internationally acclaimed Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III. He was the President of Russia in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his role in Danish drama Herrens Veje, which aired in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm
