Reese Witherspoon feetLaura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon, born on 22nd March 1976, is an American actress. The recipient of various accolades such as an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award and an Emmy Award, Primetime Emmy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards, she has consistently ranked among the top actresses paid in the world. Time magazine and Forbes both have named her among the 100 most influential people around the world in 2015 and 2006 and 2006, respectively. Forbes declared her the world's most wealthy actor in 2021. Her estimated net worth $400 million. Witherspoon made her screen debut in The Man in the Moon (1991). In 1999, the actress made her name with her supporting role in Cruel Intentions. She was also known for playing Tracy Flick as Election's black comedy. She was recognized for portraying Elle Woods in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) and its sequel in 2003 and for her part in the romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama (2002). Her work was critically acclaimed, and she received the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as June Carter Cash, in the musical biopic Walk the Line. After a downturn in her career during which Water for Elephants (2011) was her only box-office hit, Witherspoon decided to make an appearance and produced and act in Cheryl Strayed, the drama Wild (2014). This brought her another Oscar Award nomination for Best Actress. Since then, she has been working primarily in television, producing and starring in a variety of female-led literary adaptations for the banner of her company Hello Sunshine. These include the HBO drama series Big Little Lies (2017-2019) and The Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show (2019-present) as well as the Hulu miniseries Little Fires Everywhere (2020). She won the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Limited Series for the first one. She produced the adaptations to film of Gone Girl (2014) as well as Where the Crawdads Sing (1922). Witherspoon also owns Draper James clothing company and is involved in advocacy organizations for women and children. She is on the board of directors for the Children's Defense Fund (CDF) and was named Global Ambassador of Avon Products in 2007, being the honorary chair of the charitable Avon Foundation dedicated to women's causes.
