Zoe Saldana is the child of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Nazario. Zoe was born in Passaic (New Jersey) on June 19th, 1978. Her father is Dominican while her mother was Puerto Rican. She was raised by her mother in Queens. When she was 10 years older the family moved to the Dominican Republic, where they were to stay for seven years. Zoe started to discover an interest in performance dancing during her time in the Dominican Republic. The prestigious ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy Zoe took ballet classes as well as other styles of dance.
