Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin is a native of Canada and actress from New Zealand. Born in Winnipeg but brought up in Wellington the city where she was born, she made her first acting appearance on screen in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at the age of 11, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born on July 24, 1982, at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was an Canadian native New Zealand actress. As a child, Paquin won her the Academy Award for best support actress. Paquin moved to New Zealand from Canada as an infant and was raised in the country. Following a prompt for open auditions at the age of nine years old, with no previous experience in acting, she won Flora McGrath's role. Flora is the child of the Scottish pianist, who was deaf. The couple were relocated from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the 19th century in order to plan a wedding. As a teenager her family relocated from New Zealand to United States.
