Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with twelve other kids. Her imaginative mind allowed her to escape the pressures of daily life. Prior to learning how to write and read Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own songs. Within 8 years she was playing her first guitar. When she was 11 years old when she was 11, she began singing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. In the same year, she recorded her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. She made a name for herself locally while still at high school, but always dreamed of having a bigger stage. When she graduated from high school in 1964 she moved straight to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were the first two albums to chart from Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for the show he had syndicated to television. Parton accepted the job in 1967 and signed to RCA Records in 1968 and joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 due to her albums on her own like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene exceeded the sales of their joint albums. The two split in 1974, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached the top spot at No. It was the first time a song was able to reach No.
