Lucy Liu is an American director, actress, and singer. She is a beautiful and knowledgeable actor, she is an inspirational model for numerous Asian actors that want to become famous in Hollywood. After several appearances in popular TV shows, she became famous when she was featured in her role in the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. Her fame exploded into movie roles, such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. The actress also gave an outstanding performance as Japanese criminal O'Ren Ishii as part of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. Around the same time, she played major characters in other box-office flops like Rise: Blood Hunter. After that, she started voice-overs for prominent characters in animation movies like Kung Fu Panda. Screen roles of a smaller screen like Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia did not yield results. Southland was a critically acclaimed collection of police dramas, which included Liu in regular role, allowed her to re-establish herself. Liu takes her time choosing roles so as to prevent being stereotyped in an industry that is highly competitive. Liu is a Chinese woman who has accepted her heritage, but she hasn't let it affect her art.
