Fawn Mckay

Fawn McKay's birthplace was Ogden Utah on September 15 1915. Fawn McKay, brought up in the Mormon Church's First Family utilized her writing talent as well as skills in researching to produce the fascinating psycho-historical biographical biography of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945, under the name No Man Knows My History, she used both. The title of this book was in response to a funeral address given in 1844 by the Church of Latter-Day Saints founder Joseph Smith. In that sermon he said: "You do not know the person I am, and have not seen my soul." There is no one who has ever known about my past. It is not possible for me to tell you. The 29-year-old wrote Fawn at the time: Ever since the moment when he spoke, at least three-score writers have jumped on the battle. They do not have a lack of documents however they contradict each the other. To assemble the documents -in order to distinguish first-hand sources from a third-party plagiarism and to then put Mormon as well as non Mormon accounts together into a reliable mosaic isn't an difficult job. This is both exciting, and also instructive. FawnBrodie devoted herself to the job. Her research and writing immortalized her with the world's attention: Thaddeus Stevens. "The Devil's Drive" (1959) The Slaughter of the South. Thomas Jefferson. A personal history of Richard Nixon (1974) as also posthumously Richard Nixon.
